"The He saith unto Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold My hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto Him, my Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." John 20:27-29
"and be not faithless, but believing." Thomas had been with Jesus and personally witnessed a multitude of miracles and participated in the best teaching this earth has ever had as well as dine with, work with and walk with Jesus and he still didn't believe. Don't be too hard on yourself when doubt comes knocking at the door. Everyone has doubt, but at some point in time you will be confronted with having to operate by faith. When that time comes I hope you are ready.
Operating by faith is when you have done all you can, but you just can't get past a certain point. You need a touch of the supernatural or what you have put your feet to will fail. Faith enables the impossible to become possible. Living by faith is trusting in Jesus more than Thomas did.
"Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." See, faith demands of our soul that we trust in the intangible. Actually faith makes the intangible tangible. If you believe Jesus, you are blessed. Faith is knowing without having to have experienced. Faith is when we trust what God says whether or not the results of our faith came out the way we thought it should. We trust God without having seen anything.
That's right, faith is trusting God.
