Daily Devotional June 24 - Have you found a better way?

"If we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." 1 John 1:9-10

Many people today don't think they need to be forgiven for anything and they don't think they need a Savior either. To the humanist, Christians look like weaklings. To the agnostics Christians look like feeble minded lemmings. To the atheist Christians look like fools. To God Christians look like His Son.

You do need a Savior and you do need to have your sins forgiven. Sins against humanity are one thing, but sins against holy God are another. Since God is willing to forgive you of your sins for the asking, what could possibly motivate you to hold out? And how often do you take the opportunity to straighten up with God? I don't mean that after you are saved if you don't ask forgiveness for sins committed that you will somehow lose your salvation. That's not true. If it were true no one could be saved because everyone would fit the category of having forgotten to ask forgiveness for something they did. It's just a ridiculous notion.

But I do mean that if you are saved, you have the opportunity and the privilege of going to God in a state of carnal mindedness and having your sins forgiven and your standing with God replenished, (totally from the perspective of your need to bring God into your situation and not that God needs you to do this for Himself.)
Bottom line: The Bible tells us to come to Him and confess our sins. If you have found a better way to do life than to take the advise of the scriptures, I would like to know about it.
