Daily Devotional June 10 - Make some 'You' time

"And He said unto them, (the disciples) Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat." Mark 6:31

This is good advice. You must take leisure time. The godly life demands that you take time away from your work, even your church work. Being so busy that you have to tell everyone to wait a minute is not healthy. Being so busy that you can't take (quantity) time, I didn't say quality time, quantity time with your kids, parents, spouse or friends is not godly behavior. The people that love you want to sit with you and chat.

It could be that you need to get alone once and a while. Jesus did. You will better serve your business, friends, and family if you are rested. I think it is apropos that Jesus takes His disciples to a desert place. Sometimes you need to go somewhere there there isn't anything to distract you, especially if you are intending a session with God. Workaholics might provide well, but there will be a huge gap in personal relationships if it is not kept in check.

Take some time alone, or with friends and family, but make it leisure time. It is from God. It is food.
